Historically, when two good things are combined the result is something great - peanut butter and chocolate, wine and cheese, tights and peep toe pumps, etc - so we can expect that the plans to merge Max Azria's young contemporary lines BCBGirls and To The Max labels will undoubtedly produce an über-brand of chic and affordable goods.
The new line will be called BCBGeneration (pronounced BCBG Generation) and the full Fall 2008 collection is scheduled to be presented at WWDMAGIC in Las Vegas next month (I'll be there!)
"With BCBGeneration, I look forward to offering an underserved consumer, regardless of age, superior fashion at competitive prices," Max Azria designer, chairman, and CEO of BCBG Max Azria Group told WWD.
Look for shop-in-shops at major retailers this fall with ready-to-wear dresses, outerwear, footwear, handbags, and small leather goods with price points ranging from $50 to $200.
