That's Just Wrong...

I try to keep this blog gossip-free and I wouldn't usually post anything that wasn't nice, but occasionally a star will wear something so horrific I am forced to call them out (as nicely as possible, of course!). Behold...

This is Bond girl Gemma Arteron at the premiere of Quantum of Solace wearing, what I am guessing is a couture American Gladiators costume. What do you think?

Dramatic New Fragrance from Comme des Garcons

There are some days when I simply can't wait for someone to develop technology that will allow us to taste, touch or smell things you find on the Internet. Today is one of those days, thanks to this...
It's the new scent from Comme des Garçons! CDG designer Rei Kawakubo worked with a British milliner to develop the fragrance, which mixes violets with hints of clove, carnation, rose, jasmine, heliotrope, and amber.
I'm mad for the sophisticated all-black bottle and mini hatbox--so dramatic and vintage! Look for this new Comme des Garçons fragrance at all flagship stores.

Say No to Drugs; Say Yes to Benefit Beauty Uppers

I've got a little brother and tons of little nieces, nephews, and cousins, so I'm constantly preaching the importance of eating all your veggies, being a good boy/girl, and, most importantly, saying no to drugs. But the clever minxes at Benefit Cosmetics have created some "uppers" I can actually condone.
Benefit Beauty Uppers ($68) is a collection of three of the brand's best-selling beauty pick-me-ups tucked neatly into a darling (I mean darling) canister that you can reuse. You'll find Dandelion, a powder that brightens and illuminates your face, Benetint, the rose-colored stain that put Benefit on the beauty map, and You Rebel Lite, a tinted moisturizer. It's an adorable gift, but make sure you get one for yourself too!

And while you're at it, order the newest Bad Gal to join the troop - Plum! BadGal Plum Mascara is an electrifying formula to brighten and beautify those pretty peepers. The purple hue will bring out that sexy little sparkle in your eyes.

Don't forget Benefit's gift to you: Free US Standard Shipping on any $50 purchase. Enter promo code PRETTY50 at checkout.

Beauty on a Budget at Sephora

A five dollar bill doesn't get you a whole lot these days, save for a cholesterol-laden, "value-menu" calorie fest from the drive-thru. So you can imagine my delight to find a mascara at Sephora for just $4! A misprinted price label? That's what I thought, but the Sephora Brand Fantastic Color Mascara really is only four bucks.

And no, it's not some puny little sample-sized tube. It's an actual tube...well, actually, the packaging is unlike any other mascara you've ever purchased! It's a squeeze tube (like a lipgloss) that lets you get every last drop of product. How clever can they get? The mascara itself is a fabulous, clump-free, smudge-proof formula, just like the expensive brands. Choose from Auburn, Blue, Brown and Green.

So what to do with the leftover dollar? Pick up a Sephora Brand Slim Eye Pencil in Blue, Mauve Purple, or Light Purple--there's just a buck each.

Sex and the City's Patricia Field Launches Destination Style

Sex and the City is released on DVD today, and video stores everywhere will no doubt be clamoring to keep shelves stocked. To coincide with the release, Patricia Field, the costume designer extraordinaire who dressed the ladies, is launching Destination Style New York, a collection of splashy clothes and accessories that are surprisingly affordable (prices range from $35 to $200!), and, even more surprising, available only on HSN!

Some pieces include a studded leather belt (yeah, just like the one Carrie wore throughout the movie), a curve-hugging sequin dress, a faux fur capelet, and a black trench coat that costs a mere $150! If you found yourself drooling over the clothes in the movie, chances are you'll find something equally fabulous in the Destination Style New York collection. Head to HSN.com for more details.

Let Them Eat Cake!

I have been MIA, and I'm sorry. It's just that I've been away...on Cloud 9! You see, I had a birthday on the 13th and my darling boy proposed! That's right -- I'm engaged! So you'll have to forgive my absence from Style Goodies.

I also received another gift for my birthday -- a deluxe sample of Sephora Brand Vanilla Cupcake Bubble Bath, just because I signed up to be a Sephora Beauty Insider! The bubble bath (which I used as a shower gel) has the most delicious birthday cake fragrance and contains skin softening aloe vera and jojoba. And while the heavenly aroma of baked treats lingered in my bathroom, it did not linger on my skin so there was no interference with my perfume.

There is a whole collection of Vanilla Cupcake products available at Sephora, and nothing is over $16. I'm after the Dry Oil and the Body Scrub next!
