3.1 Philip Lim on Robertson

Southern California native Philip Lim is finally making his way back to the West Coast with a huge (5,000 square feet!) 3.1 Philip Lim store on L.A.'s hip Robertson Blvd. The boutique is scheduled to open on June 20 at the quiet, northern end of the street (away from the swarm of paparazzi), at 631 N. Robertson Blvd. Lim also has stores in Manhattan and Tokyo.

Expect to find the full 3.1 Philip Lim line of so-chic apparel for women and men, the adorable collection for children, as well as his organic collection and line of accessories.

Who, What, Where?

Los Angeles - Usher mentioned the Beverly Center in his hit single "Confessions" and it's no wonder - this mall has everything, and now it has a Calvin Klein store! The 12,000-square-foot unit is located on the sixth level of the mall (where Pottery Barn used to be) and is among five new Calvin Klein stores launched in the U.S. The store features a modern look with white, concrete, and mahogany walls (so Calvin Klein, no?), plus mahogany fixtures and hand-rubbed steel racks. Expect to find 60% of the apparel to be casual, with dressier pieces making up the other 40%.

New York - Fifth Avenue may be getting a very stylish new tenant! WWD reported today that Diesel has just signed a letter of intent to lease 685 Fifth Avenue, at 54th Street, a space owned by the Gucci Group. According to the report, no lease has been signed yet and it is not clear whether Diesel will rent the entire 33,000-square-foot store from the Gucci Group or just a portion of the space.

All Myne

We were so much more honest as children, no? When we loved something, we claimed it - and weren't ashamed to do so. Everything was "Mine, mine, mine!" from the Cap'n'Crunch to the California Dream Barbie. So it should come as no surprise that as adults we're still infatuated with all things delicious and beautiful, like yummy little dresses from Myne.

Designer Ashley Ann is the mind behind Los Angeles-based label Myne, a collection of delectable frocks and tops that are as sweet as they are bewitching. Offering flow-y silhouettes in silky fabrics or soft cotton blends, the pieces are playful and flirty enough for day (think softly-sheer Coco, pictured left, or the darlingly puffed-sleeved Roxanne dresses), with a healthy dose of sophistication to turn heads at night (pick the ultra mini Dawn dress or pair the Joy blouse with trousers).

And when your girlfriends come over to borrow something amazing before you all hit the town, tell them with absolutely no shame, "This is Myne - you can get your own at Revolveclothing.com!"

Undesigned Clothing

"Un" is a contradicting prefix that can turn a perfectly wonderful words into something not so great - unhappy, unreliable, unrequited. So you'd think that undesigned clothes would be unfinished rags of fabric with a devil-may-care structure and zero aesthetic appeal . Instead, Undesigned by Carol Young is not only flawlessly finished, it is wholly unpretentious and completely fetching.

The Los Angeles designer explores various textures and shapes to create pieces that are functional (a flattering pair of gauchos has enormous, hands-warming pockets) and unique (said pockets are flipped on the outside of the pant, like a stylish update on an 80s fanny pack). The collection is undeniably original and each piece is clean and unfussy. Plus she mixes bamboo denim, organic and recycled knits, and other eco-friendly materials with snuggly wools and luxurious silks, then donates every last scrap of unused fabric to local children's art programs. How unbelievably unselfish!

MMM..Narciso Rodriguez Perfume..Oh, and Some Celebs

I attended a fashion show last week that was pretty typical of an L.A. celebrity event: A DJ spun the soundtrack, which ranged from Nikka Costa to Hall & Oates and back to some funk and soul from Soul II Soul and Dwele (it was pure genius!). Every trend that is on the "Hot for Fall" list (or will be by the time you finish reading this) was represented - from skinny jeans paired with puffy bombers and up-to-there leather boots to white mini frocks with black beading and studs (which I'm lov-ing, by the way). On a couch in front of me there was a certain celebutante powdering her nose before the photographers had their way with her; and milling around were dozens of (oddly) good-looking cocktail servers offering up drinks mixed with the alcoholic sponsor of the night. And then there was yours truly, sitting alone on a couch, wrist to nose, inhaling the intoxicating scent of the Narciso Rodriguez for Her I'd sprayed on before leaving the house that evening. I'm not even kidding! I was completely unaffected by the chaos that ensued when cast members of a popular NBC series started showing up and I couldn't care less about the photographers' bulbs flashing at the L.A. socialites seated next to me. I was in a deliciously delirious state of olfactory ecstasy, transfixed by the soft, velvety musky-yet-somehow-clean-and-floral fragrance perfection. Seriously, I couldn't get enough of myself. Oh, and the fashion show was great too.

Who, What, Where?

Los Angeles - Stylistas who love Madison, the chain of specialty contemporary boutiques sprinkled throughout posh L.A. neighborhoods, will adore Madison Gallery, an upscale version of its younger sister. The 2,770-square-feet luxury retail spot opened this month in Malibu Country Mart and houses such high-end labels as Nina Ricci, Matthew Williamson, Marni (YUM), Derek Lam, Zac Posen and tons more, plus emerging designers like Erin Fetherston, Thomas Wylde, and Sari Gueron (love, LOVE her ladylike designs - click here to see them). Make room on your credit cards before showing up at this Malibu location because prices range from a (meager - HA!) $668 for Balenciaga jeans to around three thousand big ones for Marni dresses.

Houston - If diamonds are a girl's best friend, then our favorite pal just showed up in Houston's Galleria shopping center. Jewelry brand De Beers opened its fourth U.S. store, marking the first of several openings to take place in the next few months. The 1,353-square-feet space has the same modern look as the other De Beers boutiques, with all those fabulous diamonds on display in freestanding cases (to give us girls a 360-degree view of the sweet, glorious sparklers). Prices for these magnificent jewels range from the low hundreds all the way up into the millions! True friends don't come cheap, do they?

Emerald City

So it was my birthday on Thursday and I've spent the past three days celebrating (sometimes it takes a few days) and enjoying some amazing gifts. It all culminated this afternoon when I took in a matinee showing of Wicked, which was gorgeous and adorable and gave me the chills! Seeing the Emerald City come to life before my very eyes was mesmerizing, but admittedly my mind did begin to wander a bit, and I couldn't help but think about how badly I am in need of a few green pieces in my closet. No, I'm not abandoning my love of all things pink, but this afternoon my admiration for jade, kelly, and emerald grew exponentially! Inconveniently, that admiration comes with a side of mild obsession, so I spent the rest of the afternoon scouring the internet for my next purchase - a cute, new green handbag for the fall. Found it at Intuition!

Mariah Bag, $68

This bag is perfect for so many reasons: a) it's fabulously green, b) it's shiny patent and has a gorgeous quilted look, and c) it's only $68!! Yes, you absolutely read that right - sixty eight bucks! My birthday money will be well spent!
