GQ's 10 Most Stylish Men in America

GQ published it's picks for the 10 most stylish men in America. Check them out and see how your guy stands up to this fashion-savvy squad. In no particular order...
Justin Timberlake (Singer/Songwriter)This one should really come as no surprise. We knew this GQ cover boy and William Rast co-founder had potential when he was that kid in the boy band.

TI (Rapper) Hip hop stars are not typically associated with tailored blazers but TI makes it work with big, baggy jeans and sneaks.

Sid Mashburn (Haberdasher)

If there's anyone who knows a thing or two about style, it's Atlanta-based haberdasher Mashburn (seen here with his staff).

Mark Ronson (DJ/Producer)

While most DJs don the same hip hop clothing the clubgoers are sporting, Ronson styles himself in slim-cut suits and skinny ties, a la '60s Motown men.

Jason Schwartzman (Actor)

The coolest thing about Schwartzman is that he doesn't at all let trends or fads dictate his style.

Glenn O'Brien (Style Guy for GQ blog)
He's the Style Guy for GQ, for crying out loud...he'd better be stylish!

Ed Ruscha (Artist)

This LA artist (seen here with his son) is 71 years old and still has a sort of cocky swagger in a suit. Note the tennis shoes.

Alexi Lubomirski (Photographer)

This England-born chap followed fashion rules given to him by his mum, and claims Paul Newman and Robert Redford as his style inspirations.

Kanye West (Rapper/Producer)

Somehow Kanye manages to make flashy, colorful, and punk look so incredibly cool on a guy. He singlehandedly resurrected shutter shades from the '80s!

Andre Balazs (Hotelier)

His hotel, Chateau Marmont, is one of LA's most chic hangouts, so it's no wonder he's among the most stylish. His idea of style: comfort!

True Colors: Italian Vogue's First Black Issue

In case you missed it, Italian Vogue has published an entire issue featuring nothing but gorgeous Black faces! In an industry that tends to be, well, color blind, brava to Vogue Italia for featuring Black models on every single page of its July issue -- now let's hope the rest of the fashion industry will follow suit with similar initiatives. Pick up a copy at Barnes & Noble or Borders.

Vogue Under Fire

The April cover of Vogue, with basketball virtuoso LeBron James and supermodel Gisele Bündchen, is stirring up quite the controversy and is being compared to images of King Kong clutching damsel in distress Ann Darrow.

I didn't care for this cover the moment I saw it and I quite agree that there is nothing glamorous, sexy, or "Vogue" about it. It looks as though Gisele is about to trip over LeBron's feet and he looks positively frightening. Now I realize that he is the first Black man to be featured on a Vogue cover, and I applaud the magazine for finally making the move. But for such a landmark issue, I would have much rather seen the suave Mr. Washington, or even P. Diddy (minus the toothpick, please Puff!) grace the cover.
What do you think? Racist undertones or just an unfortunate photo?

Rihanna on Cosmopolitan

Rihanna looks positively sunny and radiant on the March cover of Cosmopolitan! I can remember a time when there weren't too many of "us" showing up on the covers of Cosmo and Glamour, and it actually wasn't too long ago. It's so refreshing to see beautiful women of color being embraced by mainstream magazines. And speaking of beautiful women, don't miss the so-provocative article in Glamour called "Your Race, Your Looks." It's a round table of real women discussing the beauty biases that every woman faces, no matter what her race.

Sass & Bide Dress

So, I was thrilled to see Holly Robinson Peete on the cover of Essence this month - I've loved her since 21 Jumpstreet! (Did I just date myself?) Anyhow, I drooled over the Sass & Bide dress that she's wearing for about an hour. Then I checked out Net-a-Porter and found that it's the Rare Moment Babydoll Dress - tres jolie, no? If the $512 price tag doesn't make your cringe I recommend you snatch up this sweet, little goody -it's much too cute to pass on!

Feeling blue about the price of Sass & Bide? There, there - check out this Free People Printed Voile Ribbon Dress. Just as cute as the one Holly wore but at 128 bucks, the price tag is much more forgiving and you'll be able to afford a chic stacked heel to pair it with!

America the Positively Glowing and Gorgeous!

Check out W Magazine's May cover girl! It's America Ferrera, the pretty young star of Ugly Betty. Doesn't she look amazing?!

Nothing makes my day more than to see a so-called "curvy" girl looking as fabulous and chic as a Chanel runway model. She, along with Jennifer Hudson, are showing the impressionable young girls of the world that you don't have to be stick thin to be considered sexy or pretty or appealing. They are smart, funny, and have confidence to spare - and nothing is sexier than that!
