Queen of Darkness: Black and Grey Fashion for Fall

What could be a sterile and serious color combination, black with grey is a cool alternative to black and white. Enchanting little details like bows, beads, and buttons make the duo fresh and playful for fall.

I am completely smitten with these Betsey Johnson Legwarmers ($40)! The chunky knit looks so toasty and the heart-shaped buttons are a sweet touch.

This Long Striped Cardigan from Twelve by Twelve ($32) is such a steal, plus the included chain link belt with ribbon tie can add a girly feel to any look.

It's hard not to love this Peoples Market Wool Mix Dress ($139.50), especially when it's paired with tights and the ubiquitous bootie.

Every girl should have a coat that's as fetching as a dress! The Leifsdottir 'Cloud Berry Flowers' Belted Coat ($298) has a tie-neck, puffed sleeves, and scalloped neck and hems - divine!

If you're looking for a versatile top that works with anything from wide-leg jeans to sleek pencil skirts, get the Smooth Long Sleeve Shirt from French Connection ($98)!

Victoria's Secret: Sweet and Sexy Sweaters Under $75

Now is the perfect time to stock up on so-stylish, so-affordable sweaters for fall, and Victoria's Secret has a fantastic selection. Check out these Style Goodies faves:

The sexy open back of this silk/cashmere blend sweater keeps the girly bow from being too precious -- an ideal balance of seductive and sweet. Pair with a flouncy skirt and booties for fall.

If you only get one sweater this fall make sure it's this one! Works as a cool layering piece or as a chic little dress.

This belted sweater is a great companion for jeans and boots or a skirt and oxford heels. Puffed sleeves feminize the rich hunter green hue.

A wrap is the perfect layering piece for fall. Toss this one in your bag and pull it out when you catch a chill at the movies, in restaurants, or at the office.

I love the idea of wearing this sweater out for drinks with my girls -- rhinestones make it appealingly festive and the open back is insanely sexy!

This sweater has a collegiate vibe to it that is surprisingly versatile! It's a fresh addition to trousers for the office or a sweet knit dress on the weekends.

Urban Apparel Gets a Makeover

I've never been much of a fan of urban clothing lines. It's not that I have anything against the people behind the labels, but as far as I'm concerned, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Nelly, J-Lo, Eve, and every other hip hop star (or any musician for that matter) should stay away from "designing" fashion and stick to rocking the mic. But a recent report in WWD may have changed my view (a little). Seems urban apparel may have been reinvented for fall...

A shawl collar sweater and tweed sheath dress from J-Lo's Justsweet label look less street and more sweet. Chunky Stuart Weitzman boots give the look an appealingly gritty vibe, but it would be just as fetching with a patent peep toe.

Puffed sleeves and an empire waist are decidedly girly - not what I would expect from Red by Marc Ecko. But this cotton flannel top and denim skirt from the label are actually quite adorable and completely wearable.

Jigga what?! Rocawear's belted wool jacket and wide-leg denim trousers are hot! Paired with pumps from his honey's Dereon label, the look is a perfect casual-chic combination for the office.

A denim label designed for the rump-shakin' booties that have inspired so many rap songs would be my last option for a ladylike fall coat, but Nelly's Apple Bottoms label really nailed it with this tweed coat!

This lambskin leather blazer from rapper Eve's Fetish label is a gorgeous substitute for the nylon puff coats so common in the streetwear arena, and the stretch satin dress is more uptown than urban.

Cashmere Mafia

I can't wait to see Lucy Lui in the new ABC series Cashmere Mafia (an updated, career-oriented, suitable-for-network-television version of Sex and the City airing November 27, 9pm), but even more, I can't wait until the weather here in L.A. chills a bit so I can rock a little luxurious cashmere myself. If I had my way ( and unlimited funds) I'd live in these pieces all season:

I usually have a hard time with sweatercoats, not just because of the uncomely name (wrap sounds so much more sophisticated, no?), but because they walk a fine line of looking granny-ish. This is probably one of the prettiest sweatercoats I've seen, thanks to its slouchy-but-not-sloppy shape and raw-edge detailing. I'm particularly fond of the glamorous sunburst effect that's happening on the back.

A cashmere bracelet is quite unexpected, but so decadent you have to wonder why someone didn't think of it sooner. The feel of luxurious cashmere gently caressing my wrists is a lovely contrast to the casual look of the cable knit design - a great piece to add to wide-leg trousers for work, or jeans and an oversized sweater for play.

Yarborough Jewelry Cable Cashmere Bangle, $187

I just adore the slightly puffy sleeves of this pullover - they give it a romantic feel that's perfect for fall's modern gamine look. Wear it over a floral print dress with the darkest tights you can find and sweet Mary Jane pumps.

Hayden Scoopneck Cashmere Sweater, $119

I am a firm believer in sweater dressing! There's no maintenance required, you just throw one on and go. This one has a touch of cashmere so it's extra soft, plus you know how I'm mad for puffed sleeves! Best of all it has a fuller skirt than most sweater dresses so it won't feel clingy over tights.

Banana Republic Puff-sleeve Sweater Dress, $108
